We offer a full range of surgical services including; spays (ovariohysterectomy), neuters, nonelective declaws, orthopedics, mass/growth removals, abscess and wound care, bladder/kidney stone removal, biopsies, exploratory surgeries as well as radiographs.
These procedures require your pet to be anesthetized; therefore, we will perform pre-surgical laboratory testing to insure that your pet is healthy enough to undergo surgery and that its’ liver and kidneys are functioning properly.
We use the safest anesthesia available, tailored to the needs of your pet. We also insert an IV catheter and give IV fluids during surgery to maintain blood pressure. Your pet will receive pain medications while here and also for home use. Your pet will also receive an anti-nausea injection to help with post anesthesia anorexia and vomiting.
It is critical that your pet has an empty stomach; therefore, do not feed after 10:00 p.m. the night before surgery. Your pet may have water through the night, but NO food or water in the morning. Surgery requires that your pet spend the entire day with us. They may come in between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and in most cases will be ready to go home at approximately 5:00 p.m.
